Beyond the Classroom

At Davitt College, learning in CSPE extends far beyond the syllabus. We actively encourage students to apply their social, political, and civic education in the real world through community engagement, national awareness campaigns, and student-led initiatives.

Community Partnerships

We actively collaborate with local organisations to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world support. From nursing home visits and local charity drives to community action projects, our students engage directly with groups in Castlebar to promote social awareness, empathy, and active community participation.

National Awareness Campaigns

Students take the lead in driving school-wide initiatives for major national and global events. Through peer-led campaigns, informative poster design, guest speaker sessions with public representatives, and open discussions, students actively champion human rights, democracy, and global citizenship across Davitt College.

Student-Led Advocacy & Action

Empowering student voice is core to our program. Whether fulfilling their Junior Cycle Action Records, coordinating environmental sustainability efforts, or organizing awareness stands, students are challenged to design, implement, and reflect on initiatives that make a genuine difference.
