Industrial Fieldwork & Renewable Energy

We connect classroom theory to real-world resource management. Junior students undertake STEM expeditions at Oweninny Wind Farm—Ireland's largest wind facility—analyzing commercial turbines up close. These site studies build vital foundations for senior students executing their independent Senior Cycle Applied Geography Project fieldwork.

3D Architectural & Landform Modeling

We gamify environmental exploration through hands-on design challenges. First-year classes participate in structural model competitions, translating textbook geography into textured 3D representations of volcanoes, cave networks, and river systems to demonstrate exceptional mastery of physical geomorphology.

Climate Advocacy & Environmental Awareness

Our department uses creative digital media to cultivate ethical global citizenship. Junior students translate research into visual awareness portfolios, running school-wide campaigns through student-designed poster exhibitions and data profiles detailing the socioeconomic impacts of global natural disasters.
